TKD II

This is another good shot. He leans back a little far during his kicks, but man can he get his foot high!

TKD

I thought this was a funny picture, that is Richard mid-air in the middle of the shot. He was doing his form during testing. He should receive his new belt, 3rd degree Level 1, at the awards ceremony on Friday. Yay!

Mostly Offline, Spring, TKD

I haven't been interested in posting much lately. I guess I just haven't been as comfortable being online for all to see. I originally set up this blog for family and other unschoolers to read, but the thought of less than savory people from my past reading it kind of creeps me out a little. I considered making it private, so family could still see it, but I want to stay in contact with other unschoolers too (though this really isn't all that much contact!). So, I have just been quiet lately, slowly getting over my issues! :-)

Though we had a seriously cold week or so, spring is here for sure. The cold snap, as usual, came after my peach tree bloomed. Hopefully it will be ok. This is a butterfly visiting my new lavender that my mom got for me. I have been teasing her because the lavender that I planted at her house when I lived there is *huge* and beautiful. I kept whining that I missed it, so she got me 2 replacements! Yay!

Richard tests today for his 3rd degree black belt. He is a little nervous, but I am sure that he will do great. It is hard to believe that he has been in TKD for this long. I will take pictures at the ceremony and try to post them this weekend. Pictures never do him justice though, you can't really tell in pictures that he is a 5'11" 13 year old! Sometimes I think he gets self conscious about always being told how tall he is, but I am so short that I really see his height as a blessing. I got elbowed in the head in Hastings one day by some tall woman, she didn't even see me! I tell Richard to be proud of his height, but also to look out for us short people!
